Here is the hit for the Mystery book suggestions for 5th and 6th graders.

The Westing Game by Raskin
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The third eye.
Search for the Shadowman, by Joan Lowry Nixon.
    It is about an adolescent boy who is researching his family history and
    discovers that one of his ancestors has been accused of a crime. The
    boy sets out to clear the name of his ancestor, but it seems as if
    someone doesn't want the name cleared. It is complete with a spooky
    cemetery and the boy uses the Internet to help him do his research.

James Howe - Sebastian Barth mysteries
Hilgartner  - Murder for her Majesty
The Name of the Game was Murder by Nixon
Caught in the Act by Nixon
Hank the Cowdog Series by Erickson
The Dollhouse Murders by Wright
Many titles by John Bellairs
Dead Man in Indian Creek by Hahn
Case of the Muttering Mummy by Hildick
A Murder for Her Majesty by Hilgartner.
   Takes place in medieval times,a girl sees her father murdered and hides
with a    boys choir.  Very suspenseful, not an easy read.
The Baker St Irregular series is good for 5th-6th. One is by Newman and
    many are by Terrance Dicks - but they are probably out of print.
The new series of Sammy Keyes and the .... by Wendelin Van Draanen is
popular with that age group
Peg Kehret also writes good ones that are like Mary Higgins Clark....
"The Egypt Game" by Z.K.
"Never Trust A Dead Man" Vivian VanVelde.  (NEW)
????? by Lawrence Yep about a young girl and her aunt in Chinatown, NY who
solve
myteries
The Peg Kehret books (Terror at the Zoo, etc.)
Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Three Investigators. Kids.
