At the elementary school that I work in, our intermediate grades (3 -5)
like Outnumbered and Math Blaster for reinforcing math skills and
problem solving. I am at home now and don't know companies but they are
in most educational software catalogs. Good luck.

My son (5th grade) loves Slam Dunk! Typing. I just installed it at our
public library for kids and they love it too! It's a great way to learn
keyboarding.

Software our elementary school (K-5) could not do without:
Kid Pix Studio Deluxe

MS Word

Hi neighbor--I drive up your way all the time to visit my daughter at UNT. For
a favorite software that has been around a while, I would mention Inspiration.
For something new to me which looks really great, I would suggest ABCLIO's
state series and specifically the CD about Texas. It may not be that new in
reality but I just saw it for the first time at TCEA convention in Austin and
ordered it on the spot. Hope these help! Mary Ann

Here's the 2 that can be used by all teachers and all students:

I am a mom with 3 kids. I have just gone back to school to get my masters and
become a school librarian (media specialist). The one CD ROM that I see most
often in the schools where I substitute teach is Oregon Trail, which teaches
social studies to intermediate level elementary school students. They think
they are playing a game and they love it.

Our most used software is: Appleworks, wordprocessing, Powerpoint,
Hyperstudio, Kid Pix, Mavis Beacon Typing, Encarta Ency, Groilers, Worldbook,
