Ele: Cross Section-Man of War Battleship

I have the beginnings of a book challenge - DK's Cross Section book about
the Man Of War Battleship. I had a phone call  from a concerned mother
yesterday morning. Her third grade son showed her the illustrations of men
on toilets and amputated body parts.  The student did not bring the book
back on it's due date and when I asked where it was he said his mother took
it to work with her (which made alarms go off in my head!) Today he returned
it, without note or anything. So I put it back on the shelf.... so we will
see what happens. Meanwhile, if you have any experiences with this title,
please let me know
