Stanford University is pleased to announce the First Annual
Stanford-California State Library Institute on 21st Century Librarianship, a
continuing education program for mid-career library staff who intend to be
movers and shakers in reinventing libraries in the years to come, to be held
on the Stanford campus from August 6 - 12, 2000.

Enrollment is limited, competitive, and closes in late March; interested
individuals should act promptly.

The Institute is an intense,residential week-long program on the future of
libraries, the impact of digital technologies on libraries, and the
innovative ways to successfully lead libraries into the new future.
Participants will work closely with visionary leaders in library and
information technology arenas, experience hands on opportunities in cutting
edge library related areas, and form a lasting network ofcolleagues with a
shared commitment to leadership and intelligent integration of libraries and
information technologies.
