I'm not sure that an AUP is such a good idea for faculty for it somehow smacks of denying that they are adults and professionals, able to make decisions on right and wrong. Yes, I realize that some adults will access sites that may not be appropriate, may use the school district's access to go to pornographic materials. This has, I believe, other ramifications in that they are being unprofessional (if not immature) and may require that the person(s) are removed from the pay of the school district. No AUP will safeguard the district, unless there is a contractual statement to the effect that unprofessional use, as accessing pornographic sites, can mean termination of the offender's contract. But that is not an issue that a library should be involved in. That is the responsibility of the Administration. Hopefully, the question raised is simply to locate for the district SAMPLES of AUP, which they can then use/not use and enforce/not enforce.
