(Do you have a library-conscious educational administrator who could do
this?)

Subject: Looking for Professor

We've had a retirement here and now we're looking for a successor. If you
know of anyone who might be interested -- already in higher education,
about to leave K-12 administration, finishing a doctorate -- we would love
to talk with him or her.

The person needs to have a doctorate in educational administration or in a
related field.

We're working hard to open the doors of our own EdAd doctoral program to
school librarians through an opportunity to create a concentration in
library media administration. We're still a ways from it, but it is
beginning to show as a real possibility. It would be great to get a
strong administrator and/or a strong university professor in K-12
administration who has the kind of appreciation for libraries that we know
is needed.

If you know of anyone that you would like to nominate, we would very much
like to have his or her name. You can tell anyone who might be interested
that Omaha is a lot better than they've heard that it is. Admittedly, I
don't have my surfboard any more, but there are a lot of compensating
factors in the people and the environment --- and I can guarantee that the
colleagues here would be a lot of fun.

Thanks in advance for anyone you might be able to steer in our direction. The
"official announcement" as it appears in the Chronicle is directly below.

Take care,
               Gary
