Hi 1. PeoplePC - Has anyone had any experience with this company? They sent a disk to my wife or "current resident" with an offer for unlimited Internet access for $4.95/month. We live in a rural coastal town and usually the "free" access offers don't have any local phone numbers. This one does, which got me _somewhat_ excited (let's keep things in perspective here!). I haven't installed it yet as I'd like to get some feedback. Does it have ads to support it at that price? 2. Brazil's Telefonica (privately owned subsidiary of Telefonica of Spain) offers unlimited free access to all subscribers. We have a Brazilian exchange student here and he tells us that, yes, it's true (the story I ready was in PC Week, so I didn't doubt it's veracity!), but there is a catch. You must have two lines - one for data and one for voice. And for rural users (such as our student), the number of lines at present are limited. It's a clever way for Telefonica to enlarge it's installation base. Of course with free access, I could afford to install a second line (about the same cost as local Internet access here) which is the best way to go until we get DSL or fibre to the home ( if I live that long - ^_^ ). from Garry Jantzen, Librarian N7SBG Marshfield High School Coos Bay, OR 97420-0102 garryj@coos-bay.k12.or.us http://www.marshfield.coos-bay.k12.or.us/garryj/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
