ALA Summer Conference in Chicago

Dear LM_Netters,

Have any of you ever gone to a national library conference before?  I was
shocked to see the prices of the hotels in February's American Libraries on
page 73.  I guess I really am just a little ole country girl.

Have any of you ever gone alone to such a conference?  I go to our state
conferences with other librarians but don't know anyone going to the
national conference.  I wonder if I should bring my husband.  The problem
with that is he wouldn't be interested in going to the workshops.  He'd be
wanting me to skip out and go to the Art Institute and Field Museum or a
Cubs game instead.  I want to attend as many workshops as possible and he'd
be a drag. (It may sound as if I don't love him, but I do, a lot. Ha!)
