Hello All, This morning I received a note from a parent who wishes to have Spinelli's book, Who Put That Hair In My Toothbrush removed from our elementary library (kindergarten through fifth grade). I am wondering if anyone else in an elementary school has had a problem with this book? The reasons she gives for its removal are: *references to sex and virginity *french kissing *child not in seat belt *cruelty to animals *naked girl *swearing *all around bad attitudes She did suggest moving it to our middle school. I searched the LM_NET archives and found this book mentioned in a HIT on favorite books for fourth and fifth graders. If anyone out there has an opinion about what I should do in this situation, please e-mail me privately. My first thought is that I don't think this book is totaly age appropriate for an elementary school, but there probably are fifth graders who could relate to it. Thanks in advance.
