Hi, Fellow 'Netters, If this has been repeated, I am sorry. I have been ill during the holidays and could not keep up with the mail. If not, please read on. One day during the holidays, I received a piece of mail which said it was a HIT from a request I had made some time earlier. I opened it, since it was from LM_NET, I thought. It was an executable file, but I thought that someone had sent me a response in that format. When I opened it, my computer froze. It was, in fact, a virus. I thought I had deleted it immediately upon restarting my computer. Luckily, I got a new virus scan for myself last week and installed it on my system. (This was at home, not at work.) The virus was still there. The new virus program quarantined the virus and has deleted it. I am not one of these people who run around crying that the sky is falling. I have been working with computers for many years. Someone has obviously found a way to get into areas that I thought were inviolate. This is not meant to scare anyone, but just to let you know that it can happen. I will no longer open any executable files that I receive on my computer. Please know that people can get into our list and use it to create problems.
