Hi everyone, I need your help.

I am on our Public Library Foundation Committee. Our goal is to raise
funds for a new public library building in our small town. We have been
working towards this decision for 4 years.

Suddenly we are faced with a small group of community members who think we
should build a combined school/public library facility.

Now, my PERSONAL opinion is that this is not a good idea for a MULTITUDE of
reasons. I was the puyblic librarian in this community for 10 years and
have been our K-12 school librarian for the last 12 years so I do have some
background and a good understanding of the differences between the two
types of libraries.

What I am looking for is other
personal/professional-opinions/experiences/studies/etc. as to the
workability of this type of situation. Could you please send me anything
you think may be of value (Pro or Con) to assist in addressing this issue.

Thank you in advance for your help. Pati
