While doing a web search to answer Maureen's question about whether Mildred Ames was still around I stumbled upon this great website. Maybe you elementary people already know all about this but on the off chance you missed it: It is the "de Grummond Children's Literature Collection" at the University of Southern Mississippi. It includes many links to many other things and also has an alphabetical list of the collections where I found a complete biography of Mildred Ames along with bunches of other information! (Maureen was right, she is no longer with us). http://avatar.lib.usm.edu/~degrum/ Have fun exploring this site.
