MID / HS : Periodicals

How many hard copies of periodicals do you subscribe to?  What portion
of your budget do you devote to magazines? to online subscriptions?  My
400+ middle school students rarely need periodicals for research and are
reading them for pleasure less each year.  On the other hand, they are
tremendous fiction readers and I would like to use more of my budget for
book purchases.  How is the situation in your school?
