A 7th grade teacher at my school would like to use a novel about Native Americans that takes place in the period before native culture was changed by contact with white Americans. I have looked in my collection, in the Wilson Middle School Catalog and in a few publishers' catalogs, and can find only modern stories or those concerning relations with whites, Indian School, etc. Does anyone know of an appropriate book for 7th graders. Failing that, he could use a novel having to do with the age of exploration. Anyone have any ideas on that? TIA Giulia Greenberg, Librarian Unadilla Valley Middle School S.
