Carolyn > Excluding power point presentations, most of the digital camera projects = > Ken Hawley and Gayle Lawrence listed in their Hits (which, by the way, I = > appreciated their work) could be done just as easy if not easier with just = > a plain ordinary camera. That is true. I am an avid user of the 1 hour film developing services at the local stores. However the usual cost of development is about $6.00 for 24 pictures. When the students are using a throw away camera, you must add in the cost of the camera. Another 5 or more dollars. Usually every shot is not usable. The digital operates on rechargeable NiCL batteries and you need special paper available at Staples in quantity. To me it seems like a lot more work to take the = > pictures with the digital camera, download onto the computer, configure = > them inside a program or whatever, and print them out on a color printer = I use an Agfa e780 (free from ATT Learning Points) and download time is very quick (5 mins. for 16 shots). Once you get them on the screen you can enhance the dark or cloudy shots, crop the overly large ones, and even delete the duds before printing them out. > Is my age showing???? I'm no spring chicken either but I have been learned to use it. My theory is that if you can read you can learn to use this camera. Maybe my view is slanted because my school does = > not have up-to-date equipment and thus we can't do class projects on the = > computer. We purchased the same camera for colleagues at another school. We found it on the Internet and the cost was about $200- much cheaper than the Sony Mavica. Maybe your PTO has some extra funds...
