For what it's worth:
Manym many years ago when just a child I used to watch the old Tonight Show
with Jack Paar.  He had many recurring guests, one of whom was an aging
English actress named Hermione Ginggold (sp?) They always pronounced her
name

Her- MY-oh-nee

I recognized the name as soon as I saw it in HP
