Does this sonnet sound familiar to anyone? Our English teacher received it from a student and believes that it was copied out of a Prentice Hall textbook but she hasn't located it. TIA As I sit down by the silent creek The ripples of the water run by my feet I place the bait on the fishing hook Slowly waiting for my prey to come I sense the darkness when the prey is coming nearer Waiting for that fish to take the dive As I feel the line pulling tighter and tighter I finally pull my real in I lift up this creature looking at me flipping and flopping trying to get free I feel the sadness that sweeps upon this creatures eyes Adn I feel the pain and his sorrow Because he won't have the chance to see tomorrow I unhook his mouth and let the creature swim free.
