I knew the horse, being so old, was going to die. I just knew it. So, about 3/4 of the way through the book, I set it aside. And I waited. And I waited. FINALLY, my husband announced he was going to an evening ballgame. (If I'm going to have a cry, I want to have a GOOD one, and you can't do that with a husband around.) As soon as he was out the door, I built a fire, grabbed a comforter and a fresh box of tissues, called my three cats, and finished the book. WOW! I cried--SOB-- for hours. I even cried myself to sleep--long before my husband came home. Another book, I don't think has been mentioned is Good Night, Gracie. I can't remember the author. But I cried through the entire book. Practically from page one. My eyes hurt for days, I'd cried so much.
