I have a teacher who is looking for the proof that Oliver Wendel Holmes was the first person to say the phrase "Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country!" JFK is not credited with that quote, but he insists that Holmes was the first to say so. Where is the proof? Bartletts doesn't do it, nor have I had success online.
