Gen: Edison Schools

Edison Schools has met with an "against new taxes" group in our community
and is making overatures to take over 5 or 6 schools.  I am seeking
first-hand accounts of experiences - -pro or con -- with Edison Schools.
If you have first hand knowledge (as a parent or educator) would you please
send me your comments.   If you choose to respond I would want to compile
your comments for those in our district -- however, I would only credit
them to position, city, state -- such as "second grade teacher, city,
state"  or "parent of a second grader, city, state."
But for my records I would like you to include name, U.S. mail address,
Edison school about which you are actually commenting.  -- This information
would only be included in my "credibility file" unless I contacted your
personally for further permission.

If anyone knows of any actual research regarding the Edison Schools
projects I'd appreciate a lead in that direction as well.
