Director of the Library

    The Winsor School, an independent girls' day school grades five through
twelve, is seeking a Library Director; the position will begin July 1, 2000.
The School has a tradition of academic excellence and is an Equal
Opportunity Employer.

    The Virginia Wing Library holds 27,000 volumes as well as 120 print and
extensive electronic periodicals.  The Library has recently been renovated
and expanded, and includes a state-of-the-art PC computer lab.

    Candidates for the Director of the Library should have an M.L.S. degree,
substantial and varied library work experience, a wide knowledge of
literature,  administrative experience, and knowledge of computer
applications including automated library systems, the Internet, LAN
management, and HTML.  Applicants should also have excellent communication
skills, teaching experience, and a knowledge of print and electronic
reference sources.  As one of the School's Department Heads, the Library
Director is responsible for administering the library budget, supervising
its staff, and helping to create a vision to guide its long-term planning.
