One of the 7th grade team of teachers at the school from which I retired is interested in providing students with a reading list in June; students must read x number of books over the summer and come prepared in Sep't. with some sort of report. They want the kids to keep reading and keep those brain cells active. We do not need titles for the booklists; we can come up with those. What they would like to know is: Do any of your schools require such a project? Is it effective? How does it work? What kind of accountability do the students have to have. Any information you can send me about such a project would be appreciated. Please e-mail me directly and if people are interested I will post a hit.
