Reading scores must increase, I think that is all of our goals for the upcoming year. There is a school in my district which was graded as a B school. The librarian there informed me that the 4th graders were eating up the Accelerated Reading program. They were not giving prizes to the children, it was the teacher who was promoting the program. The children actually earned grades for the books they read. I do feel that if the reading or L.A. teacher places a great deal of importance on the program, children will read and the scores will go up.
