Red Bluff is a rural northern California community of about 36,000 located=
on I-5 approximately 2 1/4 hours north of Sacramento, 1/2 hour south of=
Redding, and 1 hour NW of Chico. Red Bluff Elementary district has 2,285=
 students in 5 schools (3 are grades K-6, 1 is grades 7-8, 1 is a small=
community school). Each school (except the community school) has a=
full-time, experienced, very capable library clerk and is automated with=
the newest version of Follett. =20
Last year the district librarian (Susan Pennell, who will be at the Madera=
County Office of Education beginning August 1) was at each school 2=
half-days per week where she teamed with the teachers to teach curriculum=
and research skills and also worked with the library clerks. She spent 1/4=
day each week at the community school and 3/4 day on district library=
"administration" tasks. The faculty and administration are very supportive=
of the library program. They would like to hire a credentialed librarian=
 to take Susan's place. =20
I would love to see several qualified applicants for this position. If you=
have any questions, please contact me today or July 26 on. (I will be on=
vacation the middle two weeks of July.)
