Query: Tech: for Update Agent users

Colleagues,
I'm trying to bring my MAC (Powermac 6500) up to snuff this summer so It will
function for me at least one more year before I have to decide whether the
next generation computer will be MAC or if I have to join the PC world.

Do any of you use the service Update Agent to keep your software in the
modern world? If you have experience and don't mind some dumb questions,
please reply.
