Elem: book title

I received an e-mail from my daughter requesting the title of book.  Her
message reads in part:

"I need to find an out-of-print children's book  ASAP!  It's about Kiko this
little Indian boy who
wants to be a chief and makes a headdress of flowers and saves an eagle and
ends
up with a headdress of feathers!  Please see if you can find the title and
where I can get a copy."

As a middle school librarian I quickly exhausted my ideas/sources.  Anyone
who knows the title please email me directly.
