I know this was posted sometime last week --
if the person who was asking about how people were
going to adjust to the changes in the AR program's
levels reads this, would you please e-mail me
privately? (Or anyone who knows about AR's
changes ...) My elementary principal doesn't know
anything about any changes, and I'm new in
August and trying to be knowledgeable about
AR. Since I have so extensively weeded my
collection, I now have room in the LMC for the AR
books, which has not been done to date in
our school. Previously, teachers kept the books in
the classrooms and only the "leftovers" were shelved
in the LMC. Teachers would come and literally trade
armloads of AR books, with no check-in/check-out/
accountability of any kind. I think that to house and
circulate and keep track of the AR collection
would really boost my circulation, though, and (this sounds
bad, but I'm trying to build something out of nothing here)
would be really good PR for my library program. I have
GOT to earn some credibility for the program from
the start.

Also, if you are growing weary of my daily pleas for help,
feel free to delete, but I have gotten more help here
from you friends than I could have dreamed possible.
You guys are my ONLY support, but thus far -- you're
all I need. Answers and suggestions on every topic
I have posted have been quickly sent and received,
and to those faithful few who have answered EVERY
time, (Colleen, Bob, others ...) THANK YOU!

One last thing -- If someone can tell me if it's possible
to search the archives by DATE, or how quickly things
make it into the archives, I may be more successful
searching there. I have found interesting reading
there, but have yet to be able to find exactly what I
go after. I looked for the most recent thread of AR
posts, but couldn't find anything.
