As usual... Within almost seconds of my TARGET post, I started getting HITS!
Here (as requested) are the hits (so far). (Please - no flames!)

----------

"I love to play" by Jake Trout and the Flounders (available @ Amazon.com)
looks like it would fit the bill. Songs included are:

"Love the One You Whiff"
"Struggler's Blues"
"I'm on 18"

and there's more!

----------

"Thru the Smoky End Boards; Canadian Poetry about sports & games" edited by
Kevin & Sean Brooks and published by Polestar Book Publishers, 1011
Commercial Drive, Second Floor, Vancouver, BC V5L 3X1, ISBN 1-896095-15-1
contains five poems on golf:
        Golf Lesson -- Susan Ioannou
        Golfers -- Irving Layton
Bangor Municipal Golf Course -- George McWhirter
        Golf -- Alden Nowlan
        Jock o' the Links -- e. J. Pratt
Trust this might help.

-----------

In the late 1920's or early 30's, a performer by the name of Frank Crummit
(sp.) sang a golf song about how "that dirty little pill rolled down the
hill and right into the water"...a local dj by the name of Moskowitz plays
it occasionally on a local public station....you might look in the Oxford
Book of American [or English] Light Verse and other collections of humorous
poetry, esp. Ogden Nash's works....

____________

I found 3 poems about golf in a collection called "American Sports Poems"
selected by R.R. Knudson and May Swenson (Orchard, c1988).

------------

Have you checked "American Sports Poems" selected by R. R. Knudson? There
are
three poems: A History of Golf - Sort Of by Thomas L. Hirsh A Lesson
from Golf by Edgar Guest First Green heron by Gary Margolis
