TECH: Looking for laptops for a lab

Our district tech coordinator is looking to purchase a bank of 25-30 laptops
and cart (not Dreamwriters or Windows CE) to use as a mobile lab for
classrooms.  Does anyone have any recommendations (particular brand to look at
or to avoid)? Is the wireless technology available to connect to the school
network (NT)? Can the battery last an entire school day?
Naturally (fiscal year ending)we need suggestions ASAP, and please respond
directly to me instead of to list.  (If enough interest I will post a hit.)
