Many asked for a hit on citing materials from the Internet in a biblography.
Below are the replies I received. Thanks to all those who sent info. My 5th
grade niece's report was one of five students out of three 5th grade classes
recognized on awards day as doing an outstanding report.
Thanks...thanks...thanks!

HIT: How to site web sites in bibliograpy?

Try my MLA guide at http://mciu.org/~spjvweb/mla.html

I have always felt the correct way to do a bibliography of any materials is
to follow the teachers instructions. If there are no instructions, then do
it the most logical way you can. Perhaps the Website's title, and the URL
would be enough. But just to be sure, check with the teacher. She may have
something else in mind. I can't believe a fifth grade teacher is going to be
concerned with the way websites are documented in college papers. She
probably doesn't even know how a college would do it!

I have a bibliography maker on my Library page. It has the correct way to
cite a website. Take a look! http://www.mikids.com/Library.html
click on Citing Sources.

Saw you needed a site for citing. No pun intended! Go to,
http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/. Search in Reference and
librarians. This is such a great site for all of us. Students and staff.

I think it's a great website and we use it with our high school's resource
classes.

If she clicks on the top link, websites, the "works cited creator" will take
her through what parts she needs. She can then highlight the finished
product, copy it and paste it into her own word processing document. Pretty
neat, huh?

have you tried this MLA site?

Try Beyond the MLA - you canfind it on the net at
http://english.ttu.edu/kairos/1.2/inbox/mla_archive.html
Also tryRHS Library page - http://www.tyler.net/ruskhslib/cited.htm

I recommend Noodletools.com. This interactive site assists the user in
creating bibliographic citations for electronic resources and non-electronic.
20% of my faculty was working on their final MS project and struggling with
the bibliography. They now sing Noodletools.com praises in chorus!

Go to GALILEO http://www.galileo.peachnet.edu/ Select Internet Resources. At
the bottom of this screen will be a search on how to site Internet resources.

Here's what we use:
World Wide Web:

Authors Last Name, First. Title of Item. [Online]
Available http://address/filename, date of document or download.
Example:
        Everything About Kwanzaa. [Online] Available
http://www.tike.com/celeb-kw.htm, February 19, 1998.
        "Education." Encyclopedia Britannica Online. [Online]
Available http://search.eb.com/bol/topic?eu=32567&sctn=1, October 14,
1999.

There is a wonderful site on the Internet that we use all the time:
www.nuevaschool.org Click on Library, then Research - then scroll down
to MLA Bibliographic Format. Hope this helps!
