LeavesBefore I became a school librarian, I was a librarian at a medium =
security prison. I felt very strongly about "dressing up," since it in =
one very quiet way said that my job meant something special to me, that =
it was important to me, and that I was there as a professional. I do =
really feel that it conveyed also that the library was a special place.
Although I do sometimes laugh that my job is not that different now =
(although usually others crack that joke), I do still feel this. As =
faculty we are professionals, we are there to do important work and our =
jobs should mean something special to us. That's why I try to dress up =
a bit. =20
