Hi,
Before others of you think I really said, the job is too hard let me give
you the actual conversation I had with the US News and World Report
reporter. What I was sharing was the reaction of the teachers in a
neighboring county who were given the opportunity to become certified
school media specialists, literally a degree for free. The county school
system and local university were working together to try to off set the
looming shortage. What I said was they, the teachers, were not interested
because they thought the job was too hard. I find it very unfortunate
that in the final writing it appears as my opinion. I love my job and
enjoy the constant professional growing and changing that goes along with
our profession. Life is never dull. Many days what is on your intended
list of to do's is not what actually gets done, but that is a big part of
the attraction to the job.
