Good Evening, Fellow LM_Netters: I am currently taking a graduate class that deals with current issues and problems in the Library Media Center. My topic to explore in depth in the class is "weeding", and I am curious as to how all of you decide on what materials to "weed". For instance, these are some of the issues that I am curious about: At what point are materials too physically damaged to keep? What is a good rule of thumb on timeliness of materials? What do you do with outdated or inaccurate materials? Do "challenged" materials often find their way into the weed pile? What about "politically-incorrect" material? Do you sell, give away, or just throw away weeded material? Any information would be most helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Roland E.
