The following job opening is posted with the permission of the LM NET
Moderators.
Library Video Company is seeking a Library Services Manager to oversee the
efficient operation and growth of its Library Services Department, including
the daily supervision of a staff of A/V-Multimedia catalogers, managing the
delivery of library services to customers and working with senior level
management to expand service offerings to libraries. Responsibilities
include working with our Information Systems Department to maintain and
enhance the functionality and efficiency of our Library Services support
systems and to provide technical support to customers regarding Library
Services products.
Qualified candidates must possess a Master's in Library Science degree from
an ALA-
accredited library school program with advanced course work in cataloging
plus work
experience as an A/V Cataloger in an on-line environment. Detailed
knowledge of
original cataloging using AACR2 rules required. Prior management experience
of MLS
level professionals is required. Previous knowledge and work experience
with
Library Automation Systems, Horizon from Epixtech (formerly Ameritech)
Library
Automation System is preferred.
Must stay abreast of and consult on competitive industry (Educational
Multimedia
Distribution Industry) issues as they relate to Cataloging and Library
Services. Must be
able to communicate clearly and effectively with senior management and
corporate
customers, including librarians, teachers and administrators.
