This debate currently about the "10 commandments" in the US interests me, = and I am wondering why we could not rewrite the christian version to a = secular one and then displaying them would not be a violation of the = separation of church and state. I think most people feel we need some = moral tenets by which we all live, or at least strive to live.....What do = you think as well educated persons particularly concerned with information = and freedom? For instance: Ten Tenets by Which to Live 1. Put no other person ahead of your own self-respect.= 2. Do not worship material belongings. 3. Do not curse. 4. Take time for yourself and your family each week. 5. Respect your elders and honor your parents. 6. Kill nothing. 7. Do not betray your loved ones. 8. Steal nothing. 9. Lie to no one. 10. Envy no one. Thank you in advance for your thoughts! Patricia Patricia L. Clark-Erskine, M.S., Learning Resource Specialist Key Learning Community, Indianapolis Public Schools 725 N.
