Hola ~ We have a large population of Hispanic students that come back from Texas, Florida and Mexico when the blueberry season begins here in Michigan. We have a wonderful migrant teacher and assitant at our school and we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We have an assembly where the students dance, they do morning announcements in Spanish and English and ask trivia questions and we have Mexican food at lunch. In the library, I have the students read the bilingual books with another student - one speaks Spanish, one speaks English. I have created a webpage too! http://www.mikids.com/CincodeMayo.html (which is always being worked on) Carolyn I Gundrum, B.Ed.
