Dear Friends, Can anyone suggest any childrens' books, teacher resources, videos, websites, CD's, etc. about Vikings, early explorers, or Native Americans that would be appropriate for second graders? I have been asked to create a resource center for next year for our new second grade social studies curriculum. Although I have been doing research for months, so far I have had minimal success. I have a few titles in each category, but I do not have enough for teachers to use in creating their teaching units or for students to check out as a class. Teachers are particularly hoping for lots of non-fiction and some fiction books for the children. I have had some luck in the Native Americans focus area, but can find very little at an appropriate reading level in the other two. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated. If you don't know of any titles per se, recommendations for possible sources would also be helpful. Thanks in advance. // Kate Brown LaBookWorm@aol.com Bryantville Elementary School Pembroke, MA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
