I have had a couple of Australian responses, but am casting my net broader in the hope of involving more students. If you have never been involved in a book rap it is: 1) a discussion about a particular book on the Internet 2) conducted on the Internet on an email list by sending email messages 3) for children of all ages, but in our case the ages given above. 4) prepared and supervised by a coordinator (teacher) in our case my fellow teacher librarian Carol Thomson 5) the coordinator (or an English teacher) make up the discussion points (rap points) 6) rap points are posted to the email list by the coordinator on set dates 7) duration of 5 to 6 weeks NB: It is best if the students have read the book prior to joining in the rap sessions, but last year we found that students who had not read the book quickly did so once the rap started. If you would like to join us please email me with details of: 1) number of students who will be involved 2) age of students 3) title of book Hope to hear from you!
