Hi Janet and everyone:

There is a book by Delia Ephron called "Do I Have to Say Hello?--Aunt Delia's
Manners Quiz for Kids and Their Grownups" Drawings are by Edward Koren.
Does anybody have this one?

It is about using "proper" manners and is such a riot for kids that I
searched and searched until I found 6 copies and I don't have 6 copies of
anything --not even Harry Potter! The trouble is that it is out of print,
but I didn't have too much trouble finding copies that were not expensive.
One problem with reading it however, is that the kids get a bit rowdy from
laughing so much and all beg to check out the book. They even take it out to
the playground and ask each other the manners questions. Here is an example
under the chapter, " Table Manners":

"Which of these are NOT appropriate subjects for dinner-table conversation?"

a) What Aunt Delia and Uncle Jerry did at work today.
b) Tushies
c) The dead rat in Uncle Jerry and Aunt Delia's garage.
d) Mucus.
e) What you want to be when you grow up.
f) Whether you can say without making a mistake, "One smart fellow, he felt
smart. Two smart fellows, they felt smart. Three smart fellows, they all felt
smart."

Pretty funny to a 10 year old.
