A friend forwarded this to me, so I'm not sure what other responses you've =
received. Below is a list of books I've ordered recently. Some are =
available through a Baker & Taylor or Amazon.com and some I found at =
Shen's Books <http://www.shens.com>. I haven't had a chance to review =
them to closely, but I think they all offer something good. A few haven't =
come in yet and I don't have the authors of those right in front of me, =
but I indicate where you can find them.

I Begin My Life All Over: The Hmong and the American Immigrant Experience. =
 Lillian Faderman and Ghia Xiong

Tragic Mountains: The Hmong, the Americans, and the Secret Wars for Laos, =
1942-1992. Jane Hamilton-Merritt

Hmong: History of a People. Keith Quincy

Hmong Means Free: Life in Laos and America. Sucheng Chan, ed.

The Hmong, 1987-1995. J. Christina Smith, ed.

The Hmong: Yesterday and Today (Shen's)

The Sky is Falling: An Oral History of the CIA's Evacuation of the Hmong =
from Laos. Gayle L. Morrison

The Changing Lives of Refugee Hmong Women. Nancy D. Donnelly

An Introduction to the Hmong (Shen's)

The Hmong (Shen's)

>Does anyone know of a good book about Hmong culture that >is appropriate =
for high school? If it covered immigration >to the US after the war that =
would be great, but not essential.

In the case of good books,
the point is not to see how many of them you can get through,
but rather how many can get through to you.
