During this school year, I have been quickly skimming all the postings re: Scholastic Book Fairs. However, one thing I have noted is that people have mentioned different discounts they get and/or differing amounts in the % of money they get to keep. I noticed some people mentioning 20%, some 30%, and some mentioning being able to keep a certain number of books as well. We did a Scholastic Book Fair last December and sold around $2,700 worth of stuff, yet the amount we got to keep (actually, we passed the discount onto the students) was 25%. This would have been true if we had done only $2,000 or even $3,000. So, I would like to take an informal survey, just to see how this differs around the country and between grade levels. If you have recently had a Scholastic book fair, what were the terms of the fair, e.g, what percentage of what you sold did you get to keep, did you get "extras" besides the $, e.g., books. Finally, did your sale only include Scholastic titles or Scholastic also send you titles from other publishers to sell as well? Thanks!
