Why don't we consider the library, the library materials, and the = librarians as outsourced? It occurs to me that doing so would eliminate = the conflicts regarding weeding, or scheduling, or any other issue = specific to libraries. The monies to purchase the materials comes from = central, why shouldn't the management of the facility do so as well? The library would just be a satellite within the school building. The = library issues such as flexible scheduling and material weeding would then = be made by those trained and experienced within the field. (Not that I haven't seen a head of library services that was NOT a = librarian! Boy, was THAT a mistake!!) I think it is an idea who's time as come! *grin* Patricia Clark-Erskine, M.S.
