what do school librarians do when they don't have classes?

Hello out there.  I'm still in shock that my middle school principal
asked me on 5/25 what I do with my time when classes are canceled or
rescheduled.  I was tongue-tied    in the face of her forthright,
challenging query.  How can I explain  that we are managers of a very
large classroom catering to the entire building, not teaching just one
grade or one subject.  And we are always "on call" to answer
wide-ranging questions.   What I'm asking for is: sympathetic
understanding plus iron-clad answers to give her.  Thank you!
