I think the security issue would have applied to your old setup also.  If
you set up a workstation to be used only by students then the only shortcut
the students have available is the OPAC.  If it is set up for full access
they would still need to know the password to access the other Follett
applications.  Even if the workstations only have OPAC access the Follett
software that is on the server needs to be fully accessible by all users (at
least this is what the instructions say).  This means that if the kids are
smart enough they could browse the network in other ways and execute these
applications (or the database or the installation file or any number other
things).  If it were me I would be more concerned with keeping the kids from
getting to the server that worrying about them guessing Follett's cataloging
password.
