Every time I read a message about color coding books according to reading level, I think about these kids Kris is referring to. What fifth grader who is already suffering from low self esteem because of a low reading ability is going to choose a book that is color coded for the entire world to see? Make a list of titles and reading levels to keep at your check out desk. Write the reading level inside the cover. But let's not make things harder for these kids by color coding the books.
