Group comments about this subject made me recall a meeting when a consultant from the State Department of Education announced that we needed to "work smarter, not harder." (The first time I ever heard the expression.) Under the table the vice-principal stamped his foot on top of mine and gripped my wrist like a vise before I even got control of my dropped jaw! :-) I'll never forget the Vice-Principal's calm expression when, bug-eyed, I turned to look at him so that the consultant couldn't see my face. The Principal was slowly shaking his head "no" to the other Media Specialist as her face turned beet red. Naturally, the Principal and VP had the funniest comments during the "meeting after the meeting." (The consultant had three months until retirement and his statements were relatively harmless, but we needed his signature to approve another pilot program.) These two were true leaders and made daily (sometimes two or three) walk throughs to observe media center activities and to share quick informal bits of news or business. It was a hopping place. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
