REF: Population in 1670

One of my students needs to find the population and/or size of the =
following cities in the year 1670:
Portsmouth NH
Salem MA
Boston MA
Plymouth MA
Newport RI
New Haven CT

I am not sure where to look for this.  My almanacs only have the current =
information and we haven't found it in our history resources.  I told =
her you all would know where to look.  Thank you for any help you can =
provide.
