"Growing Up" by Russell Baker was on the summer reading list for honors
English students. One of the kids wrote that her mother was offended by the
book and wouldn't let her read it. Students submitted comments anonymously,
so the teacher can't question the student as to what the parent found
offensive. The teacher had read the book a year or so before putting it on
the reading list and doesn't remember anything questionable. Even though
this is book is not being formally challenged, can anyone who has read the
book comment about what might have been the problem or lend some insight?
Please respond to me personally.

I apologize about the mime format. I have tried to fix the problem many
times and the solution is not obvious.
