LM_Netters,

This is my first posting. I am an MLS student and work part time at a
senior high school. The AP US history teachers are working on a novel
comparison project that will give the students different perspectives on
society and/or life during specific time periods. They would like to
look at historical events from the perspectives of different genders,
classes, races, etc. The example they posted was the comparison of _The
man in the gray flannel suit_ and _On the road_.

The broad topics that they want to look at are:

Roaring '20's
Harlem Renaissance
World War II (home front mainly)
Great Depression
Cold War at home (Red Scare)
Cold War abroad
The 1950's -- rise of consumer culture, conformity, etc.
The Civil Rights movement
The Feminist movement
The Domestic 1960's -- Camelot
The rise of the counterculture

I thank you all in advance. You can reply to me directly.
