LM_Netters,
I state in the subject line that my request is personal because it is
motivated by the recent death of my sister, who was employed as a 4th grade
teacher in a K-4 school. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that
donations be made to the school library. My brother -in-law has asked me to
make suggestions for purchasing, given that they xpect the sum to reach
$5,000.00. I first suggested that he get in touch with the school's
librarian ( I don't know what the situation is in the school, whether he/she
is a certified media specialist or not, and my brother-in-law did not know
either), as that is the person who should be most familiar with the school's
curriculum, needs, etc. I then offered my own suggestions. What I would like
from this list are suggestions that I can pass along to my brother-in-law
for "must haves" that he can then discuss with the school's librarian. I
will post a hit. TIA.
